CRITICA

LUZ ORLANDO BRENNAN

Buenos Aires. 1928. It’s midnight. Roberto Arlt rests as today’s edition of the newspaper Crítica goes to press. An errand boy interrupts him bringing in a letter from Anna Ivanova: just another suicide note of the many that are posted to Crítica. Once again, Arlt must go on the hunt for a sensationalist story.

PRESS NOTES

The short-film CRITICA was premiered on September 2014 at the Gaumont Cinema Buenos Aires. Here some of the press reviews:

... the most exciting of the shorts is En Crítica.  With an outstanding period setting, ambitious photography and a good performance of Alberto Ajaka as the writer.

Juan Pablo Cinelli "Pagina 12"

Another high point is the last short, En crítica, directed by Luz Orlando Brennan. More than a short, it looks like the beginning of a longer film ...

By Gaspar Zimerman "Diario Clarín"

The magnificent and gloomy En Crítica, directed by Luz Orlando Brennan, completes the showing. Outstanding both visually and as a story, and with a great performance by Alberto Ajaka, it is a piece that shows a remarkable reconstruction of an era.

Amadeo Lukas "Revista Veintitrés"

Another segment that stands out is En Crítica, directed by Luz Orlando Brennan. Excellent technically and at reconstruction of an era, it has nothing to envy to larger productions.

Fernando Sandro "The seasoned viewer"

A reconstruction of a lost time, with a precision rarely achieved in feature films. The most ambitious productions short is En Crítica, directed by Luz Orlando Brennan.

Claudio D. Minghetti "Telam"
